The Cat From Outer Space | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Ian Nathan Empire Magazine There's enough here to capture the imaginations of the smallest viewers, animals with personalities always work a treat in that department, but the film's rewards will always have to be measured by the simple proposal of its title. Rated: 3/5 Mar 19, 2018 Full Review The Cat From Outer Space | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Variety The fun, as usual with Disney pix, comes in the believable sight gags provided along the way. Also as usual, it's a good cast of veterans and nothing to tax them beyond their abilities, all ably kept in pace by director Norman Tokar. Nov 26, 2008 Full Review The Cat From Outer Space | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Fiona Ferguson Time Out Routine hi-jinks ensue, mixing strangely with ecology consciousness-raising, pseudo-scientific jargon, and everyday telekinesis. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review The Cat From Outer Space | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Talking alien cat outsmarts lesser humans in '70s comedy. Fun old movie Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Ken Barry, Harry Morgan, the late McLean Stevenson, the late Roddy McDowall, and Ronnie Schell A cat Jake has to find a way to get back home He enlists the help of Dr. Frank Wilson (they communicate via mind transference) using his collar Jake and Wilson are the best parts Also there is a nicely filmed helicopter chase along with some impressive practical effects thanks to the cats powers So yes it goes off in a few detours but it has a delicate charm Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/23 Full Review Audience Member i thought it was a great epic movie that showed a movie can be good with a low budget and no CGI amazing movie recomend 100% also the characters are good and loveable, iconic and so on 10/10 Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member An above average Disney live action movie from the 1970's, about a space alien cat whose ship separates from its mothership and crashes on Earth. He is taken by the military to a base, where he is discovered by a civilian scientist who learns said cat, a four-legged one, has a collar allowing him to use telekinesis and talk into people's minds. The scientist gets help from several friends, but the military and foreign spies are after the cat as well.No kid heroes in this movie; the characters are adults and the humor is there but the silliness kept minimal. Suited for the whole family and will not bore them. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Starring Ken Berry, Sandy Duncan and McLean Stevenson as three scientists that help out a stranded cat from space. Ronnie Schell does a good job as the voice of the cat. Harry Morgan also stars as a military general. The movie was supposed to be a comedy, but I didn't really find it funny in any way, with the exception of the absurdity of the situations the characters got into. But, the writing is the problem here I think. There is a lot of great comedic talent here, but they weren't given much to work with. If it sounds like something you might enjoy, then check it out.
