God Of War Ragnarok: Freya's Missing Peace Favor Guide (2024)

Upon helping Freya destroy the curse binding her to a single Realm in God of War Ragnarok, she, later on, will become a valuable ally that'll aid Kratos in his journey. Like any other character in the game, Freya has Favors that pop out occasionally, and completing these Side Quests rewards a decent amount of XP for both Freya and Kratos.

Freya's Missing Peace occurs during the end of The Reckoning. The Goddess requests that Kratos help her find inner peace by traveling to her wedding site to retrieve some items in God of War Ragnarok. She is haunted by what Odin did to her and would like to take care of any loose threads that bind her to the All-Father.

To complete Freya's Missing Peace Side Quest in God of War Ragnarok, players must finish three tasks; travel to Vanir Shrine in Goddess Falls, destroy three items, and leave the shrine.

How To Reach Vanir Shrine

Upon freeing Freya, Kratos begins his journey back to the Mystic Gateway. Instead of interacting with the gate, keep rowing the boat to the right until Cliffside Ruins, then follow these steps:

  • Defeat the enemies then climb the walls to the left.
  • Jump on the platforms to get closer to the red flowers blocking the chains.
  • Fire some Sigil Arrows to set them on fire using the Blades of Chaos in God of War Ragnarok.

Once the chains are released, climb them and interact with the seal to open a path to the Goddess Falls. Hop onto the boat and continue south to reach the newly unlocked area. Defeat another set of enemies to be able to climb freely.

After that, complete these steps:

  • Climb the walls marked with symbols up ahead to the top.
  • Jump to the left and ascend another wall.
  • Hop onto the platform ahead and investigate the sealed door to allow Freya to open it. Vanir Shrine will be on the other side.

Where To Find And Destroy The Three Items

God Of War Ragnarok: Freya's Missing Peace Favor Guide (5)

There are three items in total; a Circlet, a Cup, and a Sword.

Circlet

The first item is a Circlet which is a Symbol of Commitment. To reach it, travel to the end of the shrine near the cliffs to the right and unlock the bridge. Fire a Sigil arrow in God of War Ragnarok on the right side to burn the flowers and break the wooden lock, then run to the left side and break the other lock. Head inside and defeat the enemies that are guarding the item.

Continue walking forward until the Circlet appears so that Freya can destroy it. To the right, there's another blocked door that the Goddess can open. Interact with the Seal to reveal a part of the word. Burn the flowers on the left side of the Circlet location to return to the shrine.

Cup

The second item is a Cup which is a symbol of Reconciliation. Players can find it by heading to a circular gate at the back of Vanir Shrine. Opening it requires solving a small puzzle in God of War Ragnarok;

  • Burn the flowers blocking one of the fire bowls.
  • Use the Sigil Arrows and aim two at the left bowl, two at the right bowl, then two in the middle to connect all of them.

Use the Blades of Chaos in God of War Ragnarok to set the middle one on fire, igniting the fire bowls. Proceed inside, kill the enemies, investigate the Cup, and interact with the second Seal to reveal the second part of the word.

The last item is a golden Sword that's a Symbol of Union. Return to the shrine and allow Freya to read the word near the cliffs to reveal a stone bridge. Cross it and enter the chamber that has the Sword embedded into a stone. The Goddess will try to pull it but will fail.

Upon admitting that a part of her is longing for her old life in Asgard, she pulls out the Sword successfully. Instead of destroying it, Freya keeps it and players get to choose which weapon she would wield, the Thrungva or the Mardoll. Additionally, this will unlock a new Runic Summon for Freya in God of War Ragnarok where she uses both swords to fight.

Leaving The Shrine

Although leaving the shrine seems like an easy task, there's an unpleasant surprise waiting for players near the boat. Upon interacting with the ship to set sail, two Dreki bosses will jump from the water and fight. Defeat them, loot the drops, and leave the shrine to complete Freya's Missing Peace Favor, which rewards 2500 Freya XP.

God of War Ragnarok is available now for PS4 and PS5.
